Sacramento, CA, February 12, 2014 – Southwest will begin its first-ever daily, nonstop service between Sacramento (SMF) and Dallas Love Field (DAL) on April 8, airport officials have announced. Sacramento passengers can currently fly nonstop into Dallas via Dallas-Ft. Worth International Airport. The new route offers an alternative airport that gives travelers easy access to the city of Dallas, as Love Field is located just six miles from downtown Dallas.
“We’re very happy that Southwest is offering nonstop service to this popular destination,” said Director of Airports John Wheat. “Love Field is convenient to both business travelers and those who want to see the sights of Dallas.”
Southwest Airlines is Sacramento International Airport’s largest carrier, offering more than 60 flights a day from its home in Terminal B.
Dallas is the home base of Southwest and passengers will be able to connect to Houston, Orlando, San Antonio, St. Louis, Austin, Kansas City, New Orleans, Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Birmingham and Chicago (among other cities).
