SACRAMENTO, CA. August 17, 2016 - Sacramento County has filed an appeal with the Sacramento Superior Court on the case involving the claims of retaliation by four Sacramento County Sheriff deputies: Hagadorn, Mendonca, Keillor and Douglas.
“It’s our fiduciary duty to the taxpayers to pursue any avenue that could reduce the cost of judgment and set the stage for any future actions that may be necessary,” said Roberta MacGlashan, Chair of the Board of Supervisors. “Pursuing appellate review may provide a better result for the County.”
The deadline to file the appeal is August 17 at 4 p.m. Missing the deadline would prevent the County from taking any legal actions in the future.
This is still an active case for the County, as work continues on a pending worker’s compensation case with Keillor.
The law firm Porter Scott will continue to handle future actions on this matter.
