Live Music Adds Holiday Cheer to the Last Busy Travel Season of 2014
Sacramento, CA. December 18, 2014 — Sacramento International Airport is ready to serve holiday travelers with holiday decorations, enhanced staffing and free live entertainment. The biggest crowds are expected on Dec. 19, Dec. 24, Dec. 28 and Jan 4. Whether you are flying in, flying out, or picking up friends and family members, here are some tips to make the most of your airport experience.
If YOU ARE FLYING:
- Arrive 90 minutes to two hours in advance of departure to allow time for possible delays and to find alternative parking in case your preferred option is not available.
- The Economy Lot ($10/day) is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. In years past, it has filled to capacity before Christmas. A cost-effective alternative is the Daily Lot. At $12 a day, it is just minutes from both terminals by walking or taking a shuttle.
- Parking lot closures will be posted on overhead signs and roadway signs visible upon entering the airport.

If YOU ARE PICKING SOMEONE UP:
- The free waiting area, also known as the cell phone lot, offers a place for visitors to park and wait until their passenger calls to let them know they are ready to be picked up.
- For those who wish to greet their guests in the terminal, the first floor of the parking garage is closest to the Terminal A arrivals area. The Hourly B lot is closest to Terminal B. The basic parking rate is $2 for 30 minutes up to daily maximums.
- Parking overnight at the Hourly B lot is not recommended, as is it designed – and priced – for short-term parking.
- Live musical performances are scheduled for Terminal A on Dec. 19, Dec. 22 and Dec. 23 and in Terminal B on Dec. 19, Dec. 21, Dec. 22 and Dec. 23. View the list of performers here.
If YOU ARE BEING PICKED UP:
- The doors at Terminal B are numbered and designated by airline name. Pick a numbered door to stand by and let your driver know. Traffic congestion is heaviest by doors 1 and 2, so it may be easier for your driver to find you outside doors 3 or 4.
