Sacramento County Office of Inspector General Announcing

They Can Now Take Community Commendations and Complaints On-Line

Sacramento, CA. December 23, 2015 – Community members will be able to submit complaints as well as commend Sheriff’s Department employees using an on-line form in addition to traditional methods of contacting the Office of Inspector General such as telephone, fax, mail, and in-person.

“The goal of adding an on-line reporting system is to improve the community’s accessibility to the Office of Inspector General,” said Rick Braziel, Inspector General for Sacramento County. “The more accessible and transparent we are the more we can improve community trust.”

“This is an important step in making the Office of Inspector General more visible and accessible to our community,” said Chairman of the Board of Supervisors Phil Serna. “Our constituents will have the convenience of providing feedback electronically, enhancing transparency and accountability.”

The function of the Office of Inspector General is to provide broad oversight of the Sacramento County Sheriff Department, including the evaluation of the overall quality of law enforcement, custodial, and security services and the authority to encourage systemic change.
