Sacramento County Budget Hearings Begin Monday, June 15, 9:30 a.m.

Sacramento, CA., June 12, 2015 – Sacramento County has released its Recommended Budget for the Fiscal Year 2015-16. The spending plan covers the wide range of services that are provided by Sacramento County including Airports, Child Protection Services, District Attorney, Health and Human Services,  Landfill Operations, Property Tax, Sheriff, Transportation, and many others.

The Board of Supervisors will begin hearings on the Recommended Budget on Monday,
June 15, at 9:30 a.m. at the Sacramento County Administration Building located at 700
H Street.

Members of the public are invited to attend the hearings and may be heard regarding
any item of the budget. The hearings can be viewed live on Metro Cable Channel 14 or the w​eb​.

On Monday, presentations for the following departments will be heard:

  • Introduction and Overview by the County Executive
  • Sheriff
  • District Attorney
  • Probation
  • Public Defender
  • Regional Parks
  • Animal Care

The hearings continue Tuesday, June 16 at 9:30 a.m. with:

  • IHSS Public Authority
  • Health and Human Services
  • Human Assistance
  • All other County departments as needed
  • Capital Improvement Plan

If necessary, the hearings will continue Wednesday, at 9:30 a.m. The Board’s approval of this Recommended Budget will allow operations to continue until the Final Budget hearings and approval in September.
