Bradshaw Shelter’s clinic on wheels to help pet owners in need
Sacramento, CA. July 17, 2014 - Newly wrapped in spectacular graphics, the Bradshaw Animal Assistance Team (BAAT) mobile community outreach trailer will bring no-cost vaccination, microchipping, and wellness services to county dog owners who otherwise might not have access or the means for these resources. The event will be held in South Sacramento at the Southgate Community Library, 6132 66th Avenue on July 20, 9 am – 12 noon.
“We’re taking our message of healthy animals/healthy communities to the streets to bring animal services into targeted communities where resources are limited,” stated Dave Dickinson, Bradshaw Animal Shelter director. “The community will immediately recognize the BAAT Mobile with its outstanding design.”
Bradshaw Shelter staff and dedicated volunteers are prepared to provide resources free of charge for up to 400 dogs and their people during the three hour period.
"We love to do these outreach events because we get to see and feel the rewards of immediately helping animals and pet owners in need," said Celeste Ingrid, shelter volunteer coordinator. "These events enable us to establish positive relationships within the communities we serve, and create a foundation of trust between the shelter and pet owners.”
The BAAT Mobile is also a clinic on wheels. Besides being used as a community outreach vehicle for wellness events, adoptions, and licensing, the BAAT Mobile is also a fully equipped surgical unit capable of spay/neuter surgeries and minor procedures.
“We will be scheduling community spay/neuter events in the near future,” continued Dickinson. “Our goal is to help prevent unwanted litters and to help keep our communities’ pets healthy and happy at low cost.”
